Will you show me around the Village?
Sure! If you are interested in booking a guided tour of the Village for your group of 10 or more, please call 248-524-3570 or email info@thvmail.org  to arrange a visit that accommodates your group. We welcome seniors, adults and youth with special needs.

Are food and drink available for purchase?
Not at this time, but in the summer guests are welcome to bring edibles and enjoy a picnic lunch outside on the picturesque Village Green. Please note: food and drink are not permitted inside of the historic buildings.

Is this a good place to bring my kids?
Yes, kids love the Village! Younger children can search for Cheddar the Village Mouse, our mascot who is always hiding in one of the historic buildings. Older children will enjoy completing a Village-wide scavenger hunt for special artifacts during your visit. Young guests are welcome to sit at the desks inside our one-room schoolhouse and play with old-time wooden toys in Town Hall, too. Best of all, these activities are included with general admission! Please see our Visit & Classes page for Village Exhibits and upcoming Programs and Activities.

Are you a teacher? Schedule a Village field trip for your class by calling our education hotline at 248-524-3598. Can’t make it to the Village? We’ll come to you! Our ‘H2U: History to You’ programs bring hands-on learning right to your classroom. You can view all of our onsite and offsite school group offerings here: Field Trips for Schools.

Is this a good place to bring my dog?
While the Village staff love and appreciate canine companions only registered therapy and guide dogs are welcome in the Village. Fortunately, we are located less than a mile from the City of Troy’s Daisy Knight Dog Park on Livernois between Wattles and Big Beaver.

Do you have a gift shop?
The Village Store features mementos of your visit to the Troy Historic Village, including postcards and books, as well as old-time toys, penny and rock candy, locally-made jewelry, jams, soaps and more. We accept cash, check and credit/debit: Visa, MasterCard and Discover.

Are Village buildings heated/air-conditioned?
With the exception of the pioneer log cabin and wagon shop, all of the buildings are outfitted with modern heating. Air-conditioned buildings include the 1927 Township Hall, Caswell House, General Store, Parsonage, Church and Town Hall. Modern restroom facilities are located in the General store and Church.

Can I get married in the Village?
The Church and Village Green can be rented for indoor or outdoor ceremonies. The Village is also available for outdoor graduation or retirement parties and small indoor events including youth birthday parties, club or business meetings, or private photography sessions.
